Initially hired in 2011 as a part-time clinician/consultant, Laura Poss was promoted to director of the Family Services Division in 2012, to clinical director in 2013, and then to executive director in April of 2017. With her wealth of experience in providing services to Medicaid-eligible children, adolescents, and their families, she is an invaluable member of the TriCity Family Services’ team.
Prior to joining the organization, Poss was on the staff at the Family Services Association of the Greater Elgin Area for 15 years, serving initially as a staff therapist, and then as its director of therapy.
Poss received her master’s degree in Applied Child & Family Studies, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University. She is licensed as both a clinical professional counselor and a marriage and family therapist, and has received clinical training in Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT) at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
She remains dedicated to providing family-centered, strength-based services to the clients of TriCity Family Services.
