Sarah Gaumer is a therapist who began her career as an artist and art educator. She holds a Master’s of Fine Arts degree and recently graduated from Adler University with a Master’s in Counseling and Art Therapy.
Sarah’s counseling approach is relational and person-centered, grounded in Adlerian, existential, and anti-oppressive cultural perspectives. She helps clients problem-solve and find hope in difficult circumstances. Through talk therapy, art therapy, and narrative therapy, Sarah supports clients as they process their lives and personal histories, helping them recover, reimagine, and move toward a renewed future. She is also passionate about healing through body-based somatic therapies.
Sarah works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, Veterans, and the LGBTQ+ community. She has experience doing grief/bereavement work, helping people who struggle with substance use and process addictions, and those exploring identity, attachment, and relationship issues. She is also able to help those who have experienced trauma, abuse, and incarceration.
Personally, Sarah finds joy and gratitude in the simplest aspects of life. She is imaginative, resourceful, and thoughtful. In her free time, Sarah is a maker; as a painter, seamstress, gardener, and sculptor.
