Trek for Sixth Graders (with curriculum by Navigate Adolescence) is a partial-day workshop for 6th graders to help navigate the ups and downs of middle school. This engaging workshop features small group breakout sessions and a high school discussion panel that addresses topics such as shifting friendships, inclusion and exclusion, and stress, in addition to exploring the use, impact and influence of social media.
The Trek for Sixth Graders workshop uses a curriculum created by Navigate Adolescence (formerly named HGNA). This program is offered by TriCity Family Services and the Geneva Coalition for Youth, with the support of Geneva CUSD 304. ALL 6th graders from public, private and homeschools are welcome from ALL local school districts (Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, Kaneland, Central, Aurora, and more)!

Family Connections is a collaborative program that invites all families with children in selected grades at partnering schools (or a community setting, such as Batavia Apartments) to participate. Students, along with their families, participate in a team-led program to enhance family communication skills, positive habits, and attitudes of respect transferable to the home, the school, and the community. Weekly meetings establish or enhance routines of family meals, discussions of feelings, and playful activities.

The ICDP is a series of parents’ interactive learning groups and related children’s activity groups that promote practical and effective strategies to enhance parent-child relationships, self-esteem, and self-control through routine, daily interactions
Supportive discussions and activities throughout the program challenge all participants (including the community-based facilitators) to interact with family members thoughtfully and with empathy to enhance loving families and to help children become strong learners and leaders.
The International Child Development Program is a program for parents and/or other adults who take care of children up to 12 years old. Discussions and activities focus on guidelines for empathetic interactions with children to help them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. Children may be invited to participate in activities that complement the curriculum. ICDP is offered locally by TriCity Family Services using program materials adapted for the USA by the Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation.
This skill-building group is designed for middle or high school girls interested in cultivating inner strength, improving emotional resiliency, increasing self-awareness, and learning how to better manage relationships. Supportive meetings will challenge participants to grow through activities and discussions.
Smart Choices Kindergarten-5th Grade is a four or six-session group workshop for children and their parents that teaches the necessary skills to effectively communicate needs, manage anger, and resolve conflicts at home, in the community, and at school. Child-friendly activities provide opportunities to practice using “I” statements, understanding other points of view, compromising and sharing, calming techniques, and responding to teasing. Smart Choices Middle School/High School is a four-session workshop for teens and their parents that teaches participants conflict-resolution skills, anger-management tools, and alternatives to a potential cycle of violent behavior.
